On Friday, our ELO Students toured several businesses at the Brunswick Landing, the area is booming! We visited Avita, an assisted senior living facility and learned about their operations and jobs available. We also visited Harvest Maine, a company that works with local farmers buying their vegetables(some discarded) and turning it into a vegetable spread and then selling it to retail stores, example: broccomole. We also visited the Bath - Brunswick Chamber of Commerce to learn about their function within the community, as well as the Brunswick Career Center, learning about all their services. Lastly, all 3 high schools gathered at the outdoor area of Flight Deck Brewery to listen to encouraging words/messaging (and a pizza lunch!) about careers from Nate Wildes, Executive Director of Live and Work in Maine/Owner of Flight Deck Brewing. Cory King, Executive Director of the Chamber also addressed the students. It was a great day and quite beneficial for all students. The opportunity to Interact/network with local businesses leaders and area educators is so impactful! - Mr. Stinchcomb, ELO Coordinator

All this month, Morse students in grades 9, 10 and 11 have been getting their Chromebooks, chargers and carry cases inspected at the Helpdesk in the library. It’s important for students to have safe, working gear so next year starts off smoothly, and we call this inspection process “Chromebook check-in” for short. Would you help us out? Please check in with your student to make sure they’ve completed their check-in. If your student’s check-in is incomplete on Friday afternoon, their Chromebook will be locked until they bring the missing elements in for inspection.

Does your student have an interest or passion for an extracurricular or supplemental program that is outside of our regular school funding? Could they use some fiscal support in pursuing that passion? Several Morse Alumni continue to support the 826 Enrichment Fund and it is now open for applications. Students are invited to apply until May 24! CLICK HERE TO APPLY: https://forms.gle/nwU3hn38rxD66M2G8

The Green Club invites students to check out the food fridge in the dining commons. This refrigerator is for unopened drinks and unpeeled oranges, bananas, and apples (which we recommend washing before eating). Students are encouraged to leave and/or take food from this location, whenever they are in need of it. This is one more step to reduce both food insecurity and needless food waste! ♻️ Morse Green Club

The Ping Pong Club raised over $500 dollars by the end of the tournament last Saturday. Our goal was $400 to buy a new ping pong table. With this extra money, the club will be able to afford better equipment including paddles, nets, and ping pong balls. I would like to say thank you, thank you, thank you to people who donated and participated in the ping pong tournament! You are greatly appreciated. -Owen Hill
