May 2023: Katie Clark
Katie Clark has been working in education for 17 years and has been working at Bath Tech for the last 7 years as the Applied Academics teacher. She attended college at Niagara University and the University of New England.
Ms. Clark has two children who are her world: Harrison, 10 and Ella, 8. She loves reading historical and realistic fiction, and she has a penchant for exercising. Her favorite food is pizza and the last place she traveled was on a cruise to the Caribbean.
When asked what she loves about teaching, this was Ms. Clark’s response: “I love getting to know what makes kids tick, and helping them discover their true potential.”
April 2023: Brian Stanton
Brian Stanton has been working in education for 31 years and has been working at Morse High School for the last 29 years in the English department. He attended college at the University of Maine.
Mr. Stanton is married to a fellow superior educator, Johnna Stanton, who also teaches in the English department at Morse High School. They have two wonderful children: Paden and Sidonia.
When asked what he loves about teaching, this was Mr. Stanton’s response. “I enjoy having shared experiences with kids. They always surprise me and make me laugh.”
March 2023: Brandon Murray
Brandon Murray has been working in education for fifteen years and has been working at Morse High School for the last five years in the Special Education department. He attended college at Endicott College.
Mr. Murray loves all sports and enjoys eating food. As a family, the Murrays are very active. They enjoy going to Church. They also enjoy helping their community. They also enjoy traveling. They stay within the United States. Mr. Murray says he is a “steak and potato guy”. As a family, they enjoy a good bbq. Their favorite pastime is enjoying their children and all of the activities that they participate in.
When asked what he loves about teaching, this was Mr. Murray’s response. “I enjoy working with teens on all levels. Seeing a smile or hearing a good laugh makes the day.”
February 2023: John Dever
John Dever has been teaching since 2000 and has been teaching at Morse High School since 2019 in the Social Studies department. He attended college at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
John has two sons, one who has graduated from Morse and one in the class of 2023 at Morse. He enjoys traveling and his favorite places he has been to are Ireland, Paris, and Quebec City. John likes to sketch and read, and he enjoys board games. His favorite food is Indian food.
When asked what he loves about teaching, this was John’s response. “I love working with young people. It is great to get to know the students and hear their views on the subjects that I have been learning about my whole life.”
January 2023: Maria Morris
Maria Morris has been teaching for 17 years, and 15 of them have been at Morse High School as the JMG Specialist. She attended college at SMCC, UMF and UNE.
Maria is married with two grown step-daughters and four grandchildren. Her two favorite names are Mrs. Morris and Gram! In her spare time she enjoys reading, yoga, photography, and hiking. She loves to travel--exploring and experiencing new places.
When asked what she loves about teaching, this was Maria’s response. “I enjoy being with students and watching them evolve. Each step forward they make is a cause for celebration. I also enjoy connecting my students to businesses, both for profit and non-profit, and opening them up to opportunities they never considered.”
